There are a few things to consider when choosing the best domain for your business and it is directly related to ‘what’ do you want the domain for:

Using the Product Name – if you are promoting a product launch, it is an excellent idea to use the product name as your keyword and your domain name. Use the keyword also in your Title Tag, to make it more optimized. This simple strategy will allow you to register your domain early on, when there is little competition for the keyword and get ranked at the top with Google so you can benefit from the tons of free traffic that the launch will generate.

Branding Yourself – if you are going to review and/or promote various products, it will be more beneficial for you to brand yourself – that is using your name (or a pen name) as your domain. This is important because it allows you to build credibility and reputation by offering valuable information and resources. If done correctly, your site can become an authority site that receives lots of visitors.

Keyword Optimized Domain – if your site will provide information or services, you can opt for a keyword optimized domain. In this case, you should find keywords that best describe your products or services based on what people search for. Consider that Long Tail Keywords (3 -5 words) will have less competition which will allow you to rank high faster. Also, people that searching for them are more likely to be ‘buyers’ rather than browsers.

Once you have a suitable domain name available you need to purchase the name and host it. I use GoDaddy to buy my domains as they have cheap prices (generally under $10).

There are many benefits to using blogs as a portal for your main site or using them as the main site altogether. There are a variety of blog platforms but today I am going to be talking about using Wordpress Blogs.

I like to use Wordpress because it’s easy to use and there is a plug-in for just about everything you can think of. I have yet to want something on my site that could not be easily found, installed and activated. The best part is, if like me you are not a programmer,

you can have a highly customized site with little effort without knowing anything at all about HTML.

So let’s run through the reasons why you should be using a blog.

1. Categorized Content – having your content categorized makes it that much easier for search engines to understand your content and rank it well.

2. Crawlable URL’s – uncomplicated URL structure makes it easier for search engine spiders to find and crawl your content.

3. Internal links – you can deep link keywords from one post to other posts, product information or purchase pages deep within your site. This is highly beneficial for ranking on long tail phrases.

4. External Links – blogs link much more freely to one another than standard websites do encouraging more traffic, and search engines love one way links from other well ranked sites.

5. RSS – Known as Really Simply Syndication or Rich Site Summary. Having your URL in the RSS feed assists in link building, and when other sites use your content your embedded links will send you additional traffic.

6. Repeat Visitors – updating your blog with regular fresh content ensures you get repeat visitors and regular search engine crawls. Regular content will also make you look like an authority site.

7. Simplicity – you can customize your site without needing to know html coding, file uploading or web page design software.

8. Plug-ins – there are plug ins for just about every feature you could want to add to your site. They are quick to install and simple to understand and use.

As you can see there are many benefits to using a blog for your main site. First of all, what are they?

LSI Keywords are keywords that are related to your main keyword that support the theme of your website.

By using these additional keywords in your website content and ads your website will be very highly regarded by the search engines. This is because the content becomes highly relevant to the keyword searched for and Google’s first priority is to give its users the best possible experience by providing websites that offer the most relevant content for the search terms they input.

These LSI keywords will not only make your content sound more natural and authoritative, but will also boost your rankings far above what they would be without them.

As you can imagine you could come up with as many unrelated LSI keywords as you can related ones. So knowing which ones Google considers to be the “most relevant” is the key to your success and this is how you do it.

For an easy example: if you use the Google Keyword Tool to search for “coffee” you will get a list of about 150 keywords related to the term(s) entered, in this case “coffee”, that contain the main keyword.

Underneath those keywords you will see another section titled Additional keywords to consider. These are the LSI keywords that relate to your main keyword but don’t necessarily contain the main keyword, some examples are barrista, expresso and so on.

The LSI keywords listed here are the ones that google recommends you use with the keyword “coffee”. Finding the right LSI keywords is very simple because you will notice from the image above that the results are “sorted by relevance”.

So all you have to do is include the top results for each of your main keywords until you have another list of 15-20 highly relevant LSI keywords to use in your main content, which we will get into in the next chapter. 

Social Bookmarking sites have literally taken the internet by storm. There are hundred if
not thousands of social bookmarking sites on the web.

They are of particular use for internet marketers as they provide:

1. Fast Search Engine Indexing – the search engine spiders visit these sites so often you
can have a brand new site indexed in a matter of hours and certainly within a day.

2. Traffic Generation – getting indexed fast is good but Social Bookmarking will also
generate targeted traffic since you will be tagging your bookmark with your niche
keywords. If you use compelling or useful content.

3. Higher Search Engine Ranking – getting high quality one-way incoming links is a

to your site will result in higher ranking.

higher than a link from a site without page-rank. With a higher PR, you can link to
your new/existing sites and improve their ranking too! You can even monetize it by
selling links from your site!

5. Personal Branding – many of the bookmarking sites let you develop your own profile
page on their site where you can list all your web pages, post links to your site and
brand yourself within your niche.

Social Bookmarking is something you simply cannot afford to ignore if you are in business
on the internet. Web promotion is about getting quality links and traffic to your site. It
wont matter how good your site is if you don’t have these two things.
