To get the most from your articles there are a few things you need to do.

CREATING ARTICLES

1. Choose a hot topic – find out what the hottest topics are with a simple Google search, watch the video in the sidebar to see a demonstration of this powerful technique.

2. Keyword structure – once you have your topic you need to insert your keywords in a few places.

• The first words of your title.
• In the first paragraph of your article.
• In the last paragraph of your article.
• In the resource box.

Don’t be tempted to use it more than that or it will not read well and wont attract large amounts of readers.

3. Keep your article to between 300-700 words. Any more and people are less likely to read it.

4. Pose a question or problem in your article and then be sure to answer it. Don’t make people go to your site to find the answer.

5. Don’t make your article a sales pitch. Nobody likes to be sold. Provide valuable content and do your selling in the resource box.

6. Have your full URL in your resource box and a call to action to visit your site. You can also incentivize visiting your site by offering a free report or service. Your resource box should be no more than 10-15% of your article.

7. Unique content – don’t be tempted to just copy and paste something you found from a PLR product. If you are going to do Article Marketing you need to ensure that at least 60-70% of the content is unique. You can use a PLR product as a source of information, just be sure put your own spin on it, it’s all part of your personal branding.

8. Be informative, funny, controversial. Just don’t be boring.

9. Be prolific in your writing. the more articles you write the more traffic you will get.

SPINNING ARTICLES

Spinning articles is a technique to get about 100-150 articles from a single seed article. It involves writing about 4 variations of each sentence and then having software randomly choose one of those variations for each sentence of the entire article giving you many unique variations.

To spin a sentence you place it between {} brackets and separate the variations by using |

Original sentence: Article marketing is a huge source of traffic.

Spinned sentence: {Article marketing is a huge source of traffic.|Gain massive traffic with Article Marketing.|Article Writing sends waves of free targeted traffic.|Write articles for one of the best sources of free online traffic.}

If you do this for every sentence of a 500 word article you should be able to use 100-150 unique variations for each ezine directory and avoid running into problems with duplicate content.

There is a lot of confusion about the duplicate content issue so I’ll try and clear it up a bit. If Google finds two articles that are too similar then it will only index and display one of them. If they both had links to your site then only one link would be counted.

Now seeing as back-links are currently one of the most important factors on getting your site ranked highly, you can see how you want all of you articles to be counted, both for the links for ranking and visitor traffic.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION

The time it takes for articles to be approved varies depending on which ezine directory you use. Some will be approved instantly while others like ezine directories like Ezine Articles can take up to a week.

This is because Ezine Articles reviews every single article by a human editor to see if they meet their standards. While this takes time it means that back-links from ezine articles are highly regarded by Google and other search engines.

There are literally hundreds of article directories you can submit your articles to and if you try to do this manually it quickly becomes massively time consuming. There are software programs and article networks that can do this for you however.

A good article network is My Article Network, it has over 10,000 directories, blogs etc it can submit articles to depending on your niche, and accepts spinned articles for multiple submissions.

Good software programs are SEnuke and Automatic Article Submitter, both also have spinning and submission features. My preference is for SEnuke as it does so many other things for you as well, such as bookmarking, RSS syndication, pinging, video submission, website creation and more. After you have submitted your articles you should also look at saving one for your blog or web-page. Using article spinning for blog posts saves you a great deal of time when you have to add new content each day when you are trying to rank #1 in the search engines.
